I bought this soymilk maker a few weeks ago (from another website) and have used it at least a dozen times already. It's such a simple machine and it makes wonderfully fresh soymilk. Basically, I soak organic soybeans for 8 - 12 hours, rinse them, put them in the machine along with filtered water, put on the lid, press the button, and wait 25 minutes. That's it!What I learned after the first trial was to begin cleaning the machine immediately after use. So as soon as I remove the lid I scrub it for a few minutes with the included cleaning cloth (they call it a clean bar in the manual). Then I pour the soymilk into a large glass batter bowl and I scrub the inside of the carafe. Doing it this way saves a great deal of time later as soymilk residue seems to be as sticky as gorilla glue, but comes off easily if you wash immediately.Next I use the included strainer and pour the soymilk through the strainer into the included plastic cup. I remove the pulp (okara) from the the strainer and put that into another bowl. This process takes about 5 minutes. I then pour the final product into a glass bottle and refrigerate it. The okara can be fed to your dog (my dog LOVES it!) or added to any number of recipes from bread to casseroles, to oatmeal....This model has an "easy wash" feature, but it's probably not necessary if you just wash the machine right away. It also has a "double thick" feature. I've used that feature once, but I don't see any advantage over the regular soy milk function. I would recommend purchasing good organic soybeans (such as the ones from Bob's Red Mill). I originally purchased organic soybeans from the bulk bin at Whole Foods, but they were pretty old and not very good.The machine is very quiet and does not take up much space.Overall, I think this is a wonderful appliance and will quickly pay for itself.
